This could end up being a special car given the fact that the s65 was built exclusivly for the M3. I don't believe you can get that motor with any other model...

Isn't the S65 just an S85 from the V10 M5 with 2 cylinders lopped off?

I guess that's one way of looking at it. It's the same as the S85 except different.

It is certainly different, but it shares a number of the same parts as the S85, and is absolutely derived from the S85. About the only thing you can say about the S65/S85 engines that is truly unique is that they share no common parts with any other non-M series engines.

I'd love to get one of each and just shelf them ferris bueller style.

Yeah, it's basically the S85 with two cylinders cut off. The S85 was another amazing piece of machinery/engineering from BMW. Can't really say the same for the engines today.

It sounded good when I used it as a megaphone to harass the cats.

It sounds even better past 6,000 RPM. Seriously, go enjoy the beast. She likes it rough! Once you experience what it's like to take it to redline, you'll want to do it over and over again.

I am going out for a drive tomorrow... it's probably time to move some fluids through veins. Plus, I got a car cover for my other car cover, so I can double bag her after the drive.

Make sure to give her a proper push! Seriously, once it's warmed up, take to redline and enjoy the music.

P.S. I just ordered Dinan Pulley's.

Do not add boost. Ruins the point of the V8.

This.

And for the record, I drove my car today. Bloody hell... the MPE plus Dinan intake is like aural sex.

And the car is stupid fast. God I love it.

Proof my car saw daylight...

Can't deny that. The deeper, more visceral music is something that you just want to hear over and over again! Now, imagine if you drove her more often.

If I drove her more often, I'd end up hanging out in the rod bearing threads. I'm good for another month at this point.

You'll like the pulley. It gives it a little oomph. If your installing yourself, good luck. The belt is short so its difficult to get on.

I have the dinan pulley, intake, and stage 1 tune. It definitly pulls harder than it did stock.

I woudn't worry about rod bearings. Mine has 8 track days on it so far this year and no issues. This car is amazing when you think about it - last weekend I was on track holding my own with professionally tuned Porsche race cars, then I drove the car home in comfort. It's a beast on the track but yet docile and luxurious on the road.
