Lightbulb Dvd player 2006 730 e66 - plays but cannot see in back of car

Hey Guys ,

Somehow the DVD screen came on today and the DVD played in the Back screen while it was in motion it did not play in the front as per usual which is fine . But now i only have DVD in front and screen showing and its changing in the back i can see DVD1 on the screen in the ENTERTAINMENT MENU and i can see tge chapters changing in the back as you skip chapters ..
I must be doing something simple but i cannot for the life of me figure this out . I have switched on REAR Full so that the console can be used in the Rear Armrest but this is not working either .

Any idea how to just get the DVD Screen playin in the Back of the Car i must be pressing something or there is a fault somewhere

Regards

Neill

I'm no expert in this area, but if the rear iDrive controller isn't working then I would start there.

DVD's are not supposed to play in the front screen u less you have an upgrade Navtv or aftermarket kit. There must be some wiring problems, check in your trunk to see if any of the cables have been pinched or not, could be a simple wiring problem.

SORRY but you are wrong ...
DVD's can be seen on the front screen of a car that
has Factory rear entertainment the with proper coding .

To the O.P. check to see if you have the rear entertainment
controls locked on your front screen .

Yeah, you're right Paper but probably the OP doesn't know that it's been coded. Factory stock doesn't show in the front screen. On that note, plz let me know how to code mine to to appear in the front screen.
Is it simple or do I need any special s/w?

OP is in Ireland. I don't know all country specific options, but the ability to show on the front screen while parked might be enabled for the factory.

As I recall, it's one or the other, but not both. If you show a DVD on the front screen, you can't move it to the back. You have to change the front screen input first.
