Bimmian, Same old crap quality

Hello festers, I recently purchased a set of AW reflectors from Bimmian.com and just wanted to share my experience with their terrible customer service.
Upon receiving the reflectors, I immediately noticed that there was a black particle baked on the surface of RH reflector. Small, but very visible and raised up on the surface.
So I contacted Bimmian.com and asked for a replacement, and the following is the first response from Bimmian.com customer service after seeing photos I provided.

"I have seen the pictures. If it is on the surface you can likely buff this out. It seems it is on the clear coat. If you use some rubbing compound on this I am sure you can get it off the surface and smooth it out. If your willing to do this I can offer you a discount on this order for these. I can offer a small refund or a slightly larger site credit that you can use any time for other things on our site."

So I am now supposed to fix this myself, using rubbing compound? I am not familiar with use of rubbing compound so it may not be a big deal, but I don't want to try to fix a defective product, especially if it's a pair of flat plastic pieces that cost $60. I expect it to be pristine.

After 10 days of going back and force (it takes 24 hours for them to reply), they are finally sending a replacement tomorrow. I have been so frustrated with their attitude and untimely response, I felt the fellow festers should be warned and that Bimmian deserves this.

Long time festers probably remember the terrible product quality of Bimmian products (remember e46 gauge rings?). I have read positive reviews recently so I gave them a second chance. Big fail

I think the offer of buffing it out was not completely unreasonable. Cheaper for them if it works and a much faster turnaround for you.

Not sure what the rest of the conversation was like but I see nothing wrong with that offer. Most of us on these boards know what a rubbing compound is.

What was your reply to the initial request to try to buff it out?

+1, especially for alpine white, extremely hard to match white paint.

I requested a replacement for the right side only with Bimmian paying for return shipping cost of the defective one. Bimmian didn't like the idea of paying for the return shipping, so after wasting many days and raising my blood pressure up, we ended up with sending 1 right side replacement and sending back the defective one in the replacement envelope with "Return to sender" written by me and put it back in the post box. You get the idea...

Perhaps not the best practice for customer service, but it wouldn't have raised my blood pressure. Once you decline in a friendly manner and get a lot of push back, I can understand how that might lead to frustration.

Re: Bimmian, Same old crap quality

It's lack of timely responses and the unethical approach to resolve the issue that raised my bp up.

Are you affiliated with Bimmian by any chance?

Really?

I merely said that their initial contact with you is not completely out of line, given that perhaps that suggestion had worked for them in the past. I understand your frustration that when you refused to comply that they did not want to replace the item hassle free.

Until this thread, I had never even heard of the company.
