Seats saloon/touring

Hello, i have got a bmw e36 saloon and the interiors are not in a very good shape, in my country, portugal, there seems to be alot of touring versions, and i wonder if i can fit the back and the front seats into the car, this is because the touring got retractable seats and it would be very usefull if i had that.

Thank you.

the seats will fit from sedan to coupe, and vice-versa, but the sedan seats will not fold up to allow access to the rear seat. so it would be easier to put coupe seats in a sedan than the other way around, even though they would bolt in.

other differences would be power vs non power, and seat heaters. the sport seats use a different connector than the regular seats. i believe the vaders also use this connector, but am not ceertain.

start throwing in the touring, which iirc has fold down seats (?), then things get trickier.

i would think that with the sedan this would not work as the sedan seats do not fold down. the coupe seats do, though. i think.

i also believe that the e46 seats would fit in the e36 chassis, as a few of our regulars have done these swaps.

i'd check in with joey (slimklim) and alex (southpark), as i think these guys have e46 seats in their coupes.

welcome to the fest and if you get a chance, please post some pics of the car(s). we like pics, especially of the e36 tourig as we did not get this version in the north american market.

would be awesome if we did, though....

Well, e46 seats are a bit more expensive and harder to find, there are cheap touring seats, but i need to know for sure if they will fit and if they will fold down
