engine lt PO420,PO430

check engine light, Cats below efficient level, what would cause this?
new cats 1 at 108k , 1 at 135k .new 02 sensors 138k on car / reset system comes back on
No other codes ? 98 740li

Did you use Bosch replacement sensors? Aftermarkets don't sent the right readings to the DME.

Otherwise, know many who have done this:

if car is running to rich what can i do to fix? car runs on 89 octane . when i switched to 87
6 mos ago did this do anything ? oil changed every 4k for last 65k miles
Did get a misfire code twice 4-5 mos ago. Still get PO420 + PO430 codes

Did you change pre and post cat? Since it is for both banks, I guess it could be the MAF or a vacuum leak around that area. I would probably check for vacuum leaks, front to back. Best thing would be to get a more detailed diagnostic done on it. I don't know the members here enough to know if anyone in your area has the proper BMW software to do this. The Indy shops around here charge $75 and up. Local dealer is not much more than that. I have just never seen a consistent cause for those codes.

I have had Magnaflows for 3 years with no issues. I have always run 87 Octane.
