Exclamation Question about the heater valve 1995 E34 530i

Ok...so I am brand new to Bimmer but the guy that sold me the car swore this was the best group of BMW enthusiasts and the most helpful when it comes down to questions. We just replaced the heater core and now there is a hose that broke off from the heater valve. I believe it is the one coming from the aux heater pump. It is dumping my coolant out almost as fast as it goes in. Will it injure anything if I clamp a rubber stopper in there to prevent the coolant dump? I need to drive the car until I can replace the heater control valve. Please help...I don't want to hurt my baby but I need wheels. Thanks everyone!

I'll be honest, if it's the same line I think it is then, all you need to do is what I did. I didn't have the money at the time so I got a tube or two if "QuickSteel" and put the line back on what small part of the nipple was left (hardly anything) and covered it in QuickSteel all around and I haven't had any problems at all since and that has been now over 3 months ago. The stuff really is hard as steel and in my opinion is better any day than those puiny hose clamps. It's a cheap fix and it works, only problem is if you ever go to replace the heater valve unit then you have to replace that line as well lol. By the way when I mean no problems whatsoever I mean up to 130mph no problems countless times since then, over 12 times. If you have the money though, I say go for it and replace it!

Also, if you choose the "QuickSteel" repair make sure you use GLOVES!
