Looking for opinions on Order

I'm putting together an order for an X3 35i and am on the fence on a few issues. Thought I'd post and solicit input from the peanut gallery.

Color: Carbon Black or Alpine White (not sure which looks better with M package)
Interior: Leaning toward black (hide dirt from kids and pets)
Fineline Wave (brushed metal??)
Cold Weather Package (might just order heated front seats and save $450)
Driver Assistance package (regular, not the "plus")
Dynamic Handling package
M package
Premium Package
Technology package

Questions:

1 Given that I will have carbon/black or white/black, what are your thoughts on brushed aluminum trim? My initial reaction is I don't like the look of the metal against the darker interior (a little too noticeable for my tastes). Thoughts?

2. I'm not sure what the difference is between shadowline and satin trim? What about the roof rails?

3. I'm considering adding premium audio. Is it worth it?

4. Is there any point to getting the accessory phone cradle or is that now obsolete with Bluetooth?

5. If I order now (October production), will the car have SIRI eyes free and other updated features?

I recognize much of the above is subjective. Feel free to share your opinions.

Will just chime in on a couple of the above.

I have the brushed aluminum with a black interior and love it. I think it looks better than the wood, if I had a different interior color I would have ordered one of the woods. You mention black to hide dirt from the kids and that's exactly why I got it but I must say the sandy/dirty bottoms of their shoes shows up rather well on the black! I would highly recommend the X-line floor liners (not mats) as they have a big lip on them that will catch all the dirt and dropped cheerios! That way you can just lift the liner out and toss the trash or vacuum it out easily.

I would order roof rails now, it's only a couple of hundred bucks and it will be a lot more if you have to add them later, also will help with resale. Depending on how old your kids are the rear sun shades are nice and again should be ordered now.

Accessory phone cradle is not worth it in my opinion. 99% of what most people want to do can be done with Bluetooth or a normal cable. I did purchase the cradle so I could play videos from my iphone on the Nav display (in park of course) but BMW disabled this feature for 2014 models (I heard you can recode it back but haven't tried) and so the only other benefit was a connection to the outside antennae and that wasn't worth $250 to me. Living in Irvine I doubt you will need it either.

Can't comment on the premium audio as I haven't heard it but I'm not an audiophile so I was never going to order it.

Make sure you check out a local Bimmerfest sponsor before ordering to make sure you get the best deal and enjoy it when it arrives!

I'm in the process myself and my personal opinion is that the X3 M package in white is gorgeous -- the lighter exterior colors show off the lines. Carbon Black, while a dramatic and beautiful color, is too difficult to keep looking nice, in my opinion. My comment about white notwithstanding, the X3 would replace my 2011 328i wagon, which is alpine white with chestnut leather and I would prefer to change up the color so am thinking about red; Alpine White is still in the running but current 2nd place. Of course, color is a very individual thing....YMMV.

The question on the trim is easy: "Shadowline" is BMWspeak for black, but note that the variant on the US-market X3 is the fancy high-gloss shadowline. I like it but it tends to show fingerprints, etc. The alternative on an M sport is satin aluminum, i.e., silver color. Not chrome but satin silver.

Roof rails are standard in the 35i. I say if you get the white then get it in satin(silver). If a dark color get the rails in black. I think the fineline trim is more elegant. But to each their own. If you are already spending all that $$ might as well get the weather package. $450 on a $50k car won't break the budget.
And make sure to get the weathertech floor liner for the back seats. It covers the entire floor and keeps everything clean. As for the trunk weathertech or the BMW brand are both good options.

Most important review the build order sheet VERY carefully!!! Once you sign off on it there is no turning back! Unless u want to lose your deposit. Double check all of the options marked off especially the color of the roof rails as they tend to get that mixed up a lot.

There are lots of threads that discuss the audio in the X3. As you can imagine, the opinions are all over the place.

I borrowed the keys for a X3 with and a X3 without premium auto from my salesman and spent a hour out in his lot listening to my music (thumb drive) in each one. I decided that I thought that the difference was enough to justify the expense for me with my music.

I recommend asking your sales person to let you do the same.

Your music, your ears, your car. You'll get a great vehicle no matter what!

I spent 13.000 on options when I ordered My X3.0 M Sport , but the best option I have found to be the Head up Display (HUD)
It puts up digital speed, reads road signs and displays Active speed limits, great for navigation information without taking eyes off road
