Picking up 2009 328xi coupe tomorrow! Wheel fitment question...

Hi guys,

I'm picking up my 2009 328xi 6 speed coupe tomorrow. Really stoked.

I had a question for you all:

I really dislike the wheels on the car right now, plus the tires probably only have a 10k mi left on them. The place where I'm getting my car has a 2010 335xi with better rims on it and I was hoping to go in there tomorrow and see if they'll let me swap out the rims, even if I pay a little bit more for them. Can I interchange these sets of rims without problem? I was hoping from 3 series to 3 series and xi to xi I should be okay...

Please let me know, thanks in advance!

sounds like you'll be fine. I'm assuming they are factory rims from another car.

The only issue I could see is that the offset of the rear wheels on the e90 vs e92 (4dr vs 2dr) are different. The front is the same. The sedan can handle a more aggressive offset than the coupe on the rear. I don't know the exact specs. The wheels look a bit aggressive, if they don't rub you should be fine.

Thanks again for your reply. When you say potential issue of having a different offset of the rear wheels, what would the implications be? Just rubbing or bigger problems? and lastly, how would I combat these problems?

Thanks!

I have no idea what kind of wheels those are whether they are ASA gt5 or vmr's or some kind of replica. But yeah about offset, I'm talking about rubbing. Maybe you can ask the dealer to put on wheel on the rear and see how it fits?

I think the stock offset of e90 rear wheels is 30, and coupe is 35. Meaning the coupe wheels dont stick out as far as sedan. And from that picture, it looks like there isn't much more room for that wheel to be sticking out without rubbing, and it being a sedan meaning those wheels will stick further out on the coupe.
