alternator issue

I have 06 x5 3.0. My alternator went about 2 months ago. Now the new alternator 140amp is not charging my battery and I'm hearing a loud squeaking as well. Any ideas on a solution.

How many miles are on your belt tensioners? What does the drive belt look like (condition)?
How old is your battery? A bad battery can kill (overheat) a new alternator.
