It seems the K lines stop in Jacksonville, FL (takes ~22 days from Bremerhaven) which I would guess is why your dealer sees a number of their ordered vehicles using that shipping line. They do not have a NY stop (closest to me is Baltimore - takes ~12 days from Bremerhaven). So being in CT, I am guessing I would not be on the K line (perhaps still on the W&W line since they stop in NY).

Yeah, I saw the same thing. I downloaded their latest schedule and it didn't look too promising for September...

I thought I had uploaded the XL file but it didn't seem to take!

How long does it usually take to get to the USA once your production status reads "En Route to the U.S." My status moved from "Production Ends" to "En Route to the U.S." on 9/5/13. Today I dropped a note to my CA to get more info so I can track as well.
Thanks in advance!

From what I have seen, it takes about 2 weeks or so to arrive at a northeast port, longer if southeast and much longer the further west you go. I'm not sure though if the BMW website updates things real time, so you car might have already left Germany well before it reflected that on the BMW website.

Did you get the VIN yet? If so, you can probably find out what ship you're on and then track it to see when it should arrive (guessing in NY) - see some of the earlier posts on what websites to use. I would think it would be any day now that it arrives at port?

Your car is likely being shipped on the Willenius Wilhelmsen line. Their web site can be reached with this link.

http://www.2wglobal.com/www/wep/index.jsp

Go to that site, look in the lower right for tracking, specify general tracking and click. When the tracking page comes up, put your VIN number in the last box to the right and hit track. If you are on the line, you will get the bill of lading for the BMW's on board and the name of the ship. Then go back to the main page and search for that ship's schedule under schedules.

Good luck!

Thank you for this information. It tells me my car was received at the terminal today and is on the Independence II. It will be discharged in Baltimore with ETA of 9-28-2013. Very cool.

So I was looking through different areas of the 2wglobal site. In the track and trace area, I searched under my final 7 VIN characters, no records came up. So then I tried entering the first 9 digits to see what comes up. Not surprisingly, you see a bunch of vehicles, assuming all BMWs, sorted by date status was last updated. At the top of the list, there are about 16 cars all with the same status, being on the Tonsberg cargo ship, voyage #CF336-TOB. This ship supposedly departed Bremerhaven on 9/13, yet the status for any one of these vehicles say said vehicle was received at the Bremerhaven terminal on 9/16 and loaded onto the vessel on 9/17, again at Bremerhaven. So how did the car get loaded onto the Tonsberg in Bremerhaven 4 days AFTER it left that same port?

The only reason it would take awhile is if the CA is busy. I believe once the CA goes into the system, it should be right there. My CA got back to me in under 90 minutes.

This just came in from my CA:
The ship, ASIAN EMPEROR, is scheduled to arrive at the Port of New Jersey in the next few days, so we could receive it sometime next week. So plan on delivery before the end of this month.

Interesting idea. I went on to try that myself with a few variations. I put in my VIN up to EK and got 30 odd hits. Unfortunately, all of them started with 153 after the EK and my VIN starts iwth 154 after the EK. I perused the numbers that did come up and the closest one to mine is 175 cars earlier in production. I may have a bit to wait yet!

It seems though that things may not get updated in a very timely manner on the shipping website perhaps. For example, the search I performed did not show any BMWs I guess on the Turendot or on the Don Juan and really not many cars shipped altogether lately. Perhaps that is the case, but who knows?

[EDIT] I think the VIN I used was probably pretty specific to 3-series, so there could be different BMW models also being shipped that my search would not have shown.

Well, it seems my car did not make it onto the Don Juan. I was able to put in the first 4 characters of my VIN which provided a very long list, even for events today. I eventually got to see some cars listed as being on the Don Juan, yet my VIN still does not show up in their database. So unless they just didn't get to enter everything yet, my car will have to be on another vessel I suppose.

Yeah, nor mine! While it certainly doesn't look as if there is much activity, I think that is only in certain lines of 3 Series. Our VINs are for 3 series. Yours is probably quite different from mine. I only show a couple of cars in the last few days going onto boats and 2 delivered to the port today (one of which is very close to my VIN number).

I suppose I have to put this down for awhile! I'm driving myself nuts!

If my car is arriving on the ASIAN EMPEROR, is that enough information to find out where it was actually built?

Since it's in the North Atlantic, Germany.

Thanks Michael Schott this is great information and very cool. The only problem is now I will be tied to this map until it rounds the corner and docks in Jersey ;-)
I'm going to estimate at least another week before it rolls into my dealership and it's prepped and ready for pick-up.
Thanks again!

My 335i xDrive did make it on the Turandot and is presently drifting across the Atlantic. BMW finished production of the vehicle around Sept 5th. I have confirmation from the WW website and from the salesman at BMW that the car was on the boat.

I guess we can consider all of us folks with September deliveries very lucky, mild hurricane season!

Re: Bremerhaven to NY

My 328 GT was on that sailing. Expected arrival in NYC is Sept. 24, but you probably already know that.
