climate control fan doesn't go off

climate control fan will not go off. HELP. Couldn't access fuses in glove box to remove fuse controlling fan. Accessing the battery to disconnect, are you kidding. HELP

Disconnect the FSR (final stage resistor). It controls/regulates the fan...and it's the component that has gone on the fritz and is causing your issue.

This is a much discussed malady...so just a simple search using FSR/FSU (final stage resistor/final stage unit) will come back with lots of info as to where it's located and how to replace it etc. You can do an internet search too if you can't find the info in this forum...just type "BMW e53 X5 FSR FSU" into a google search box.
