Door Seals Advice

Hey guys, first time post so sorry if mess up the etiquette or something

I got a '88 528e last spring as my first car. It's in great condition and it runs like a charm but the door seals (especially driver door and trunk) are a bit faulty. I live in Seattle and would prefer to not have wet carpets and a musty trunk every time it rains hard. I looked up the seals on ebay and they are around $70(ish) each. Is there some way I can peel off the seals that are already on there and re-attach them with a better adhesive? Has anyone else had this problem?

Thanks in advance!

I've reattached loose seals with 3M weatherstrip adhesive before, but not my E28 door seals. It may work, it may not. Your trunk leak could be coming from yout tailight seals, a very common problem. You might as well try it before buying new ones.
