E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

my question is, are the cheap ebay lights worth it? do they fit? look good? actually work? edot: (not the used ones, but the new ones)

junk yard obviously, those parts are sparse in these parts

have you swapped over to plastic bumpers? cause thats what that fog light is for. i had the stockers on mine, and they mounted to the underside of the bumper.

Pricing on factory fog lights has gone through the roof over the last few years. My car needed fogs when I got it and I'll admit I bought the $60 ebay lights. They look OK but you really get what you pay for. The mounts are cheesy, the plug housings are keyed incorrectly so you have to slightly modify your plugs, and the light output is pretty lousy. And after a year they were as sandblasted looking as my original 200k mile lights I took off. But they aren't cracked like those were. Although I think the cracked ones actually worked better.

Hate to say it but cheap rarely = good. I would go for good junkyard originals or new OEM. Might be $ but they tend to last. How much is your car worth? What % = lights. How good do you want it to look?

Agreed. I have them also and I was shocked on how cheap they were when I got them, but since I committed, I installed them. I would not have bought them if I knew their quality. The lenses are plastic. The braket is so weak that they flex. The black trim is too small for the light and I ended up breaking one of them trying to get it to fit around the lense. they don't come with bulbs. The bulb holders needed tweaking to get the bulbs to fit. In your hands they don't look as if they should even cost $60.

I too would look for some used OEM units that are in decent condition.
