How do I reset the oil service light after changing my oil and the brake pads inspection light. This is on my 07 328i.

The brake service light is triggered by both mileage and a physical wear sensor in the pads, so the pad sensor needs to be replaced as part of the brake job.

if you replace the pads before the sensor is worn thru, you only need replace the pads, Catch them early and you can save 60 bucks on sensors

Re: Brake and oil light reset

Ok I got that part fixed but how about the oil light after changing the oil. The service requirements light and oil light are still on. An oil can and the car up on a hoist.

The oil light resets the same way as the brake light, using the method in the video.

Once you're in the reset menu, use the switch on the face of the turn signal to scroll to the oil service light and then perform the reset.
