Fuel system issue?

2006 330i, when I accelerate I hear a few clicks in the noise of the rev, it sorta sounds like the sound of when you throw a marble in a plastic cup, that's the best way I can describe the sound. It doesnt make the noise when i rev the engine in neutral. I have been making the idiotic mistake of filling my tank with regular gas for 5 months now instead of premium. I think that may be the reason. I just filled my Tank for the 2nd time with premium gas, each time I used the fuel system cleaner, the sound has gotten better but it still exists.

What can I do to fix the noise myself or will I need a professional?

Was gonna guess gas but you seem to have it covered now. Hopefully it will continue to get better!

As long as it keeps getting better with each 93 octaine fill up, I'd keep going as you are and not take it in. N4S

Fuel system issue?

Thanks! So I've used the fuel system cleaner/lubricator twice already, should I keep using it with every fill up until it gets better?

Sounds like you could be experiencing ping(per ignition) related to low octane fuel. You engine management system should be able to compensate for the lower octane in most cases, but maybe your's is not able to fully compensate. Changing to higher octane gas an allowing you car some time for adaptation should hopefully correct the problem if it is ping.
