God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993.

dead cylinder?

Just sold my 92 325, new owner went for a tune up and they said he had a dead cylinder. Had check engine light checked about a month ago and all it showed was a bad wheel speed sensor .. was running fine then and still is...would it be possible to have a dead cylinder and the car run fine? or maybe a "faulty" check at the tire and tuneup place....I just hope I didn't sell the guy a big problem I didn't know about. Thanks.

Was the car running rough. A cylinder not firing would be very noticable

x2. No way is 5 cylinders going to power that car smoothly. It's not a Mercedes 3.0 diesel.

If it does have a dead cylinder it isn't running like a sewing machine now. Could be a bad diagnosis but if it is running poorly it's most likely something like a broken rocker arm. Not unheard of on an M20 engine.

the only time i dealt with a dead cylinder was with a 240z. twin turbo v6. compression test was all cylinders but 1 were pushing 120psi. the dead cylinder was 0psi wet/dry. car struggled at idle if we had it or around 800rpm. if the idle was raised, then the motor smoothed out. when driving you couldnt tell there was a bad cylinder. broke the tires loose in 3rd gear boost.
