Difference between Mx gear and Sx gear? - manual mode

Hey all, recently started driving my 8-sp auto in manual and saw 2 sets of gears

1. M1, 2, 3,.... in which if I push button to change to Sport from Comfort mode, the display shows "Mx Sport"

2. S1, 2, 3,.... which is already in Sport mode.

What is the difference I should see when driving in these 2 modes? FYI, I have DHP on X drive.

Anybody wants to share their experiences, please feel free.

Thanks!

Tranny in S: this is still in full auto mode but with higher shift points (throttle is affected)
Tranny in M: is just manual mode, so the way it drive here really depends on you.

Now with DHP and button in Sport mode: This will make your chassis stiffer, and also affect your throttle.

Awesome. . Thanks!
That must be why I was feeling the gear upshift automatically in S mode and not in M mode. It downshifts automatically in both, right?

Yes it downshifts automatically in both. If you want full control, I believe you have to put the car in Sport+.

Sport + doesn't have any affect on the 'control' of the transmission. In order to put the car into manual shifting mode, either flick a paddle or push/pull on the transmission lever.

Sport+ only holds gears till redline in terms of transmission function.

What I meant was Sport+ and lever in manual will not downshift automatically.
