Broken rubber seals around door opening

I drive a 2010 328Xi and the rubber seal around the driver and passenger door openings are ripped. Has this ever happening to anybody and is it normal for a BMW? The seal seem to be very soft and even the slightest pant rubbing went entering the car would damage it. BMW Laval said it wasn't covered!!! BMW Canada said the same... Any thoughts?

The ones in my 2008 are like that.
It's caused from 'sliding' in and rubbing them...

I had a 2002 325xi sedan and I replaced the rubber seal on the driver's door three times and the fourth was almost worn out when I traded it in after 11 1/2 years of ownership.

2011 328x - replaced drivers side rubber twice under warranty and was crumbling a 3rd time when I traded it this summer. I will say the SA acted like they had never seen it before but never questioned replacing it.

Spilled Coke is often a culprit .... you could move to the US an get this covered under warranty .... wouldn't be a s bad as moving to Ontario ......

I have an M3/4 BMW and my E93 and none of these rubber seals sees wear because I don't get in and rub the seals, I turn 90 degrees and sit in the car then pivot to be facing the steering wheel. It doesn't wear the seat and has worked well. I did see wear on my other cars on the seal and also the vinyl protective strip that you also rub getting in and out. This isn't unique to BMW it happens with all cars that you have to wear to get in and out of...
