335D Dash Plasti Dip Project

So I wen't a little crazy with some black and red Plasti Dip over the wood dash on my 335D. I was inspired by the black/red dash on the new models, so I gave my best shot at it. Multiple coats with black, then did a very heavy coat of red and removed the masking while it was still wet. Turned out pretty well, but I'm not sure if I'm in love with it. Tell me what you guys think.

I think it looks good. Love the red line. And it's one of a kind.

Reminds me of the original VW GTI interiors in the 80's, I like it.

335D Dash Plasti Dip Project

I gotta admit, I never thought of plasti-dip uses for the interior, but I kinda dig the red line! Looks like a 2013 335 I drove once. I think the doors are too dark though...needs something to break up the panels/lines. Maybe put some of that red trim on the doors?

But to be honest, I'm pleasantly surprised by it at first impression. Good job.

I think it looks fantastic. I have the chestnut leather and the darker wood in my E91 M-sport 6MT and I've never been very fond of how the leather and the wood look together. I've looked into getting aluminum but it's a rather pricey swap. May have to go this route. What's cool about the plasti-dip is that you can just peel it off when you don't like the look anymore. Well done.

After reading the title, I thought "oh no". The red line is awesome. Too bad you couldn't incorporate it into other trim pieces for continuity.

Not going to lie, I like many others saw dash and plasti-dip in the title and was already thinking what a nightmare it would be. However, it turned out pretty well! Looks good and is definitely going to be unique.
