Longer crank - update - dreaded high pressure pump failure

In my previous post I had mentioned about the extended crank sometimes. So it went to the dealer and I was told there was High pressure pump failed. Is it the same as High pressure fuel pump. The service advisor did not know anything or was too busy. Anyway they are waiting on tank vent valve and will get it tomorrow.
I never got any check engine light but report says 'check engine indicator - priority maintenance '
Not sure what's the story with high pressure pump failure. I had heard these new engines did not this issue. I am little worried

When you get it back, look at the service slip to see what parts were actually replaced. A tank vent valve is not an HPFP.

Please keep us posted on this. It would definitely suck if BMW hasn't straightened out the HPFP issues that have been going on.

Ok. Is high pressure pump same as high pressure fuel pump? The diagnostic says high pressure pump only. I will definitely talk to some tech guy about it. I need to know this crap and will post it.

Where I'm coming from is the difference between the HPFP being the broken part, or a different broken part, the tank vent valve, causing the HPFP to malfunction. Like Want The Thrill, and I'm sure others, I'm very interested in what you find out.

I have not picked up my car yet but I was told by the service personnel (over the phone) that high pressure fuel pump along with Tank vent valve has been replaced. The car threw a code for this issue. I am not satisfied yet and will speak to service manager when I pick up my car tomorrow . Will keep you posted.
You folks have never heard about this issue at all for N55?

Update:
The following 3 components were replaced

High pressure Fuel pump: 13-51-7-616-170 (Part no.)
Fuel Tank Vent: 13-90-7-636-157 (part no.)
Fuek tank breather : 13-90-7-636-135 (Part no.)

The tech had to do couple of procedure to diagnose this issue of failure. No codes were stored in the system on the failed HPFP. There was this some unusual clicking noise while at idle and thus the fuel tank vent was replaced.
Yes the service guy told that he has seen some 335i with this kind of failure and they have updated part. No warranty updated by BMW yet on this yet as they have not seen many.

Well the engine started to makes noise as if somebody is tapping a cup all time while in idle. and this is a separate noise from the engine. Yellow engine light came on with fuel cap warning. Tightened it few times but it comes again and again and the check light engine stays on. So another beautiful trip to planned to dealer tomorrow
