I think I read somewhere that these ships carry about 5,000 cars.

The BOL numbers for the Tortugas are ACD34001 through ACD34005 which make up the larger Booking Number of DEBRB1150258.

I'm not giving up that more VINs will be added to the system tomorrow.

Bremerhaven to California (waiting at the port)

Found this little snippet on ship capacity.

With the building of Wallenius Wilhelmsen Logistics's 8,000-CEU car carrier Faust out of Stockholm in June 2007 car carriers entered a new era of the large car and truck carrier (LCTC).[9] Currently, the largest are Wilh. Wilhelmsen's "Mark V" ships, led by MV T***248;nsberg.
The car carrier Auriga Leader, built in 2008 with a capacity of 6,200 cars, is the world's first partially solar powered ship.[10]

I found something else that mentioned that they typically have a capacity of 4-6,000 cars.

So I went back on to the WW tracking site and tracked the VIN using the last 7 digits of the VIN only. It found a record that matched and it looks my vehicle is on the Tortugas. I tried searching using the entire VIN and realized there is a space in the VIN as it appears on my Vehicle Inquiry Status/Factory Build that my CA gave me when the vehicle went into production. Searching with the entire VIN with this space yields "NOT FOUND". When I delete the space from the VIN OR search using the last 7 digits only it finds a matching record and the entire CARGO ID matches my VIN number. If anyone wants more info please let me know. I'm willing to bet some of your cars are on there since a few of you were at port before mine (approx 9/29 or 9/30- can't recall for sure- but I know finished production 9/26).

Mine says no record found regardless of whether I use the entire VIN (without a space) or just the last 7 characters.

Aren't you confirmed on the Auriga Leader already though?

According to the CA, that's the boat it's on.

The Auriga Leader is a NYK ship so it wont show up on the WW site.

Mine completed production on 9/23 and was at the port on the 9/26. I've checked too many times and my VIN is not on the list.

The Rigel Leader (NYK Line) is the next ship to Port Hueneme. It leaves on 10/11 from Bremerhaven. Unfortunately NYK Line does not provide online status. You will have to wait and hear from your CA.

Port Hueneme updated their receiving schedule.

http://www.portofhueneme.org/documen...l_schedule.pdf

Auriga Leader is due in Oct 11.
Carmen is scheduled for Oct 17.
Tortugas is booked to arrive on Oct 30th.

I'm doing my best to be patient, but I'm not succeeding.

The status via BMW 1-800 number changed for me today and says the vehicle is in transit (no longer waiting at port). Car is on Tortugas. JT, I'm surprised your car isn't on this ship. Actually I'm bummed out because you've put some time and work into tracking everything- you deserve to be on that ship!!!!

The Tortugas left the dock in Zeebrugge a couple minutes ago.

I called the 800 number this morning and the recording said that my car was at the port waiting.

The Rigel Leader is doing donuts/killing time just outside Bremerhaven and I'm hoping I make that ship. Unfortunately, there is no way of checking your VIN with NYK Line so I will be bugging my CA every day.

MonkeyDigsBMW - Congrats on getting you car on the Tortugas. Hard to believe that only one of us made it.

Looks like that link is for NYK Container Ships.

This is a lot less fun without other 'Festers on the same ship.

Monkey, keep us posted on your status so we can at least live vicariously through your experiences.

I just checked with my dealer to see if they have any ship info and their status is that my car isn't at the port yet, but the 800 number has been reporting it at the port waiting for a ship since 10/2. Guess the dealer doesn't have the most current info.

I've got a 435i that just hit the port on Tuesday, is that ship headed to the West Coast or East Coast?

All the ships discussed in this thread are heading to the west coast.

My car just went to 182 AG Load No. -- Released to Carrier today at Regensburg. I'm hoping to catch Elektra, which departs next Saturday. Is anyone expecting to be loaded on her too?

I am also looking forward to the Elektra. Did you get the status of your car (182) from the CA?

Not quite. I called the 800 number and went to a rep, who gave me the updated status. The automated system still said my car was in the paint shop. No word on what ship I'll be on, but the rep reckoned it would be in the system early next week.

OK. My car is waiting at the port according to the 800 message. The rep thinks it will take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks to get on a ship. Not much useful info.

Have learned not to "expect" (428 produced Aug. 26) but always "hoping" with every ship that goes from Bremerhaven to California.
