You could try going up in base weight and see if that helps. Have you verified the Vanos solenoid is working correctly?

Would a Lucas oil additive help?

Yeah the vanos definitely kicks in I can feel it more now(after my m3 cam swap I noticed it was going full advance so I fixed that)

I might upload a video tomorrow so you can hear it

Are you sure it's the vanos rattling?

What did you do to stop it going full advance? It's supposed to be no advance until the vanos solenoid activates and allows oil pressure to the vanos mechanism to push it to the advanced position when you hit 3K rpms.

When i set the vanos timing the first time I set the cam gears halfway instead of full clock wise, so when the vanos kicked in it only advanced it half as far as it should.

You upload the video to YouTube. Then you copy and past the link in to your post.

From the video..

Inspect primary chain tensioner..
(I found that the old one failed at the same time. Makes a hellacious racket)

Repeat vanos setup/install..
http://drvanos.com/docs/stage1.pdf

You gotta rotate the exhaust gear to the right (iirc) as far as possible before installing vanos..
(yes I had to do it twice, also.)

Did you get your smog/cat issue sorted too, vmax?

Ill check out my tensioner again, when i did my m3 cam install i noticed my screw up on the vanos timing and did it right this time but my tensioner seemed fine, had good spring pressure too.

I ordered new cats, wont get them till wednesday next week though. Hopefully that fixes my smog issue and helps my low end torque, i know a clogged exhaust system can really kill your bottom end power.

Yeah I get that..

You mean the failing unit they received as a "core" charge was "re-furbished" excuse me.. "rebuilt" improperly?

The O-rings? The Bearing?.. The lefthanded smoke shifter?
