Hope you got a police report and the other guys insurance information. Call his insurance company, tell them what happened. If they determine it was not your fault, then you should be able to take it for an estimate, then take it to a shop to have it professionally repaired at no cost to you. Don't try to fix anything until this happens.. If it's already fixed, the insurance won't pay you. They should also give you a rental car while the repairs are being done.

Could you post more pictures? It kind of hard to tell the full extent if the damage for that one picture.

That sucks. I hope they catch that asshole for you. If you haven’t already you should definitely file a police report.
As for the damage, if you want to repair it the first thing you should do is check to see if the frame is straight. Assuming the frame is straight, the best way to repair that damage would be to cut the rear quarter panel out of another e36 and weld it to your car. Then you need to find a passenger-side door off another e36 compact to place yours. Unfortunately that door was only used on the ti models so it might be a little hard to find a replacement. If you take your car to a body shop they should be able to give you a free estimate on how much all that would cost.

Your in CALIFORNIA!
Plenty in your favor.

File claim with your Insurance company..
You've been paying all this time.. now, its their turn to do their job.
File Police report.
Let them do their job.
If there are cameras anywhere near the intersection..
They'll get em.. and when they do.. Its going to be his ASSSSSSSS.
If he wasnt insured they'll crucify him
If he WAS insured and HE ran, they'll draw & quarter him

Voila!

Dont sweat it Ozzy!
Time for racecar!

Get check from Insurance. Deposit and save 'til later.
Start stripping your E36.
Label parts, and hardware, and sell it on eBay. (maybe even the motor)
Hire a body knocker under the table to help you, and over the weekend; bang that fcker out.

With your piggybank swoll up with check and part money..
get colormatched cans of paint, seats, suspension, brakes, maybe a motor swap(?)
You can fashion race panels out of sheets of Carbon Fiber, plastic, or metal..

Dont be too bummed bro.
You're allright, still walking upright, and it seems like you have a helluva opportunity to titty out your 318ti.
Im rooting for you!

Cheers!

From a financial standpoint, that car is definitely totaled. Yes, it could be repaired with some serious sheet metal work, but no insurance company is going to be willing to pay for it, since the repair fees will certainly be over 50% of the value of the car. You stand to make the most money by doing what Mania mentioned above (i.e. getting a check from your insurance and parting it out on your own terms).

Sorry this happened to you. I'm always surprised by how many stories I read of people being involved in hit & run accidents. Even I was a passenger in a car that was crashed into and the other person bolted. So many people are completely morally bankrupt...

Got Crashed Try Replace Or Go Get It Fixed

Thanks guys I really would like to keep my little ti I'm thinking of going to the shop and try to get it somewhat fixed if not then I probably will try to part out (last resort) and isn't the fender the same as the e30? Or it's just the ti

NO E36 ti body parts interchange with the E30. SOME of the rear suspension does.

Clarify: Did you or did you not file a police report? If you drove away from the accident site without getting the cops involved, you're going to have serious trouble getting anything from either your insurance company or the perp's insurance.

call your insurance company, call the police. there might be traffic cameras that could help with the situation in that vicinity that may lead to the identification of the driver of the truck.

don't wait any longer, though. the longer you do, the harder it will be to get any sort of recourse.
