Another F'in 7

Took a trip to the dealership with the intention of swapping my 7 for a 6, but somehow ended up with my third 750 within 4 years. The deals they were running were just too good on these things to pass up (Pull Ahead, 2k loyalty cash, 5k cash on '13 7's). Wasn't sure I wanted to put up with the non-sliding sunroof in the 6 either, and definitely didn't want a soft-top convertible.

Really wanted Mineral White after having dealt with Jet Black for a while, but was having a hard time passing up the free M Package deal BMW had in place - and Mineral White wasn't available with the M Package. Dealer was nice enough to throw in a set of 20" M wheels since the base 19s where unimpressive in our opinion. Got out of my lease super early with no liability, and now have a 7 with more options and a bigger engine for a monthly lease payment that's lower than that of my previous 7 (which had been a really good deal as well). Ran out of things to complain about, so I took them up on their offer. Had the windows tinted today - 3M 23%. Doesn't look this dark outside of the parking garage, and seems just about right. 30% on my last car was too light for my taste.

Executive Package adds a handful of options I've never had before, and alot more leather in the interior. Suspension seems different, maybe just because I'm stepping out of a used car into a new. Interior is quieter, possibly a result of all that new leather rather than vinyl/plastics - or maybe the new suspension, I don't know. Ride seems fine even on 20" RFTs. HUD is pretty awesome and I look forward to doing some coding to add data to it. Auto start-stop absolutely sucks, and will have to be coded out as well since the dealer no longer does it. I'll probably keep it on next time I'm out with some liberal chick so I can show her how it turns off at red lights and convince her it's a hybrid.

New engine is a beast and combined with the new transmission make for noticeably smoother acceleration. Enough torque to really tear **** up. I've never had any complaints about the power-train on my previous 7 though, and always appreciated its performance, so this is all gravy to me. Would have liked the LED lights but whatever, can't have everything.

Second to last picture of the long wood on the rear shelf is strictly for the ladies

white is not my fav, but love the black interior, and love the fact that the seven has avoided the nav screen that looks like someone duct taped their ipad to the dash as in the 6,5,and 3 series
Good luck with your new ride my friend.

Congrats and thanks for sticking in the 7 club! I must say, your OEM, assembled at the FACTORY, RWS, is simply amazing...

I gotta admit that while I think it's good looking, Mineral White is a bit girly. That Lexus in the background of the last pic is just about the same color and has a license plate that reads GRLNXTDR. If I had gone with the 650, Space Grey was actually my #1 choice.

Car looks nice, and thanks for the well written write-up! To make it a little more aggressive, consider blacking out the grille and some of the other chrome trim and powder coating the rims Ferric Grey!

If I didn't virtually know you... I'd cuss ya ass out right about now.

Bro Mineral White gets sooo many compliments, it's damn near automatic LOL!

I've owned not one but two Alpine Bimmers and the MW is sooo sexy and stands out from the crowd. Tons of AW bimmers floating around! You did good broskie... You did good. #trust

Just noticed the rear bumper freshening with the elongated reflectors and chrome strip to add that extra helping of Luxury!

Haha, thanks. Yeah I saw a Mineral White in the sun a while back and decided to go with it if I stick with a 7. Only one I've seen in LA so far. The dark tint we have seems to bring the metallic sheen out even more. Just going to have to stock up on tar remover for the rear bumper.

The suspension has been reconfigured to be softer with the 2013 update.

I'm probably going to end up in the same boat as you - would love to get a 650i GC, but I expect when my lease runs out, the incentives on the 7 will be too great to pass up. It's just disappointing that I'm being forced to drive a 7 series...

LOL, This, doesn't even qualify for first world problems. It's like problems of the elite.

Hey - I can't even afford to fill the trunk with Louis Vuitton every week! And of course the depression from lack of RWS.

In all seriousness, depression, anxiety etc. are psychologically and physiologically the same regardless of third world, first world or elite type of problems. I feel sorry for all my fellow man, rich or poor. For example, the anxiousness felt from rushing to the airport to avoid missing a plane is the same for a rich person in First class and a poor person in Coach class. Everyone has problems - they just differ.

If you ask most people here, I think you'd find that at some point in time, they had to make a choice between a 7 series, S class, Audi A8, etc and had conflicting thoughts. It probably felt similar to someone needing to choose between a Ford Fusion, Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. Just reading Adam's first post, I can imagine what he had to go through - car, colors, options - and all right at the dealership. On the last day of the quarter. That pressure is very real.

Congrats, Adam! I really like the Mineral White especially with the 303's. It's something different from all of the other Alpine White M Sports around. Glad you decided not to defect to the 6er, as we would have been forced to ban you from our party here at the F01-02 forum.

Adam - any thoughts on sticking with the "i" as opposed to going "Li"? I'm thinking about going "Li", if only to try something different. My boys are still under 10, so the extra space is no where near necessary.
