Question shifting issues

hello everyone .I am new to this forum just started
my 06 650 I conv having issues with shifting when I start driving .I really feel the shift .my RPM gage erratic , any body had any issue like that?

Now my transmision light trouble is on.can only drive with one gear ..i am worried about finding a reliable ,honest mechanic ,in s ca ,any body had to repair or replace 650i trani?

You need to have the codes read before doing any serious damage. A Tranny is around 6K. You might want to have someone check your fluid level, to see if it is low. The code will help determine what the problem is. You might want to give a zip code, for someone to make a referral for a independent mechanic.
