Bluetooth on a 2007 BMW 328i

I just purchased a 2007 BMW 328i. The car has the pre-wired option for phone (Bluetooth) but Bluetooth is not activated. The VIN has the option "S640A Preparation for telephone installation, Universal." See more information here:

http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=660738

Has anybody done this?

Also, has anybody installed a Parrott system and kept steering wheel controls if the above is not an option?

Just really looking for people around Portland metro area that perhaps have done Bluetooth retrofit or even a Parrott system so I can get some feedback.

Thank you!

You would be better off getting something like a Dension

You would be better off getting something like a Dension gateway 500s bluetooth.
It would give you bluetooth phone and A2DP audio , usb and ipod.
If you want the BMW bluetooth for phone its and extra module that is just as or more
expensive by the time you put it in,and it would only give you handsfree phone .
(If you already have the module that might be different so it could be cheaper but you need
to check for that.)

If you want more info go here

and look at this

Also since you are lucky enough to live in Portland I would go and vist this shop as it
happens to be the best BMW Audio shop on the West Coast maybe in the nation.

Did you have any luck sorting out your ability to connect bluetooth in your 2007 E90. I'm trying to do the same thing (also have the S640A option)?
