Couple of convenience issues tho - can lose the Cobb unit, or drop it, or step on it, or set something heavy on it.

To change Cobb maps, follow this procedure: [CAUTION! Your eyes may water!]
[1] Come to a full stop
[2] Find Cobb unit
[3] Turn on Cobb unit - set to transfer to new map
[4] Insert Cobb unit in OBDII port below dash
[5] Wait awhile for Cobb unit to finish transferring new map
[6] Remove Cobb unit - stash in safe place.
[7] Start your engine!! You're ready to experience a different Cobb map!!!!
[8] Accelerate cleanly and powerfully back to speed!!!!!!

JB4's a bit diff:
[1] Select the JB4 unit by pressing left & right steering wheel buttons simultaneously with thumbs - don't bother to slow down if driving, go ahead and do it on-the-fly
[2] Select map with right steering steering wheel button
[3] Press left steering wheel button to deselect JB4
Keep drivin' - your map is changed. Especially useful to switch to & from Meth map for massive power / conserve Meth.

Did I mention that Cobb doesn't have a Meth map? Or Meth?

.

New map transfer as long as it isn't totally going through the uninstall/install process takes like 1-2 mins

I'd start small get some logs to see the mixtures and everything look good then work my way up if you have an FMIC+ downpipes that will be a major leap over stage 1 and you'll never want to go back.

Stage 1 will be like WOW but then stage 1 aggressive will be even better and FMIC+DP+ aggressive will again change the car noticeably

Enjoy man and hopefully your car likes the tune. Mine was logging weird timing when I got more aggressive unlike some so hopefully your car is more happy than mine. Still fun regardless.

Terp,
Do you think a Cobb w/ pro tune would have helped as you went more aggressive?

Protune might have been able to workout some of the timing on two of my cylinders. I was throwing parts at it trying to see if it was that first (did plugs and coils and that didn't help). So my next stop would have been PTF. But then I got hit a day later

Agree the F10 is the killer M5 version, a pure stock one would thump me.

You are the first person I have heard say that!

What is wrong with it, in your opinion?

NOT SO!!!!!

Add time to:
  1. Slow down; pull off road and come to a full stop
  2. Retrieve Cobb
  3. Tell Cobb what to do
  4. Unplug & put Cobb away
  5. Start engine; enter traffic & come back up to speed.

Bought it from BMW dealer, they let the brakes get to an inch of passing inspection (wouldn't pass my states inspection so $400 rotors just to pass inspection), WOT throwing limp and SES between 3-4 (spark plugs my guess given the laziness to fix brakes) it resets when you stop and reset the car.

SMGIII is a clunky POS [might be dying clutch/flywheel/grease drying, slave cylinder who knows] nothing like DCT, Battery might be dying lights only come when car is running, Idrive had to self reset 30 minutes into drive. This is in 8 days of ownership...

I'm guessing if they wouldn't pay for new Rotors, Battery, or $11 NGK plugs what else could go wrong with tranny or major things.

The 335i WAS an e92 xdrive coupe with 47k 2010 with every option same color as mine black saph with coral red seats but got taken down off the site today :/ now looking at F10 m5... Miss my 3er already had a cart full on BMS site CPE fmic, bms catted down pipes, jb4 and dual cone.

Its clunky as f* the SMGIII clearly shows its age after driving a DCT M3 for 15k miles, its a MAJOR step back. Everything else listed above.

I have the pockets to pay for clutch flywheel double vanos replacements, SMG pump... But why throw 10k+ into repairs when I could grab an f10 m5, also I figure if the repairs I'm guessing will be needed in the next 3-10k miles I'll lose as much trading in the f10 m5 for something later.

AGAIN.. Nothing I've seen can beat this v10s growl and I was just getting ready to order a meisterschaft but no point if everything else is crumbling around it.

I'm asking for a few more shekels off and if they go for it I should have an f10 by the weekend. I really wanted the e92 335i with 47k but clearly someone ran the vin and saw it had been max optioned in 2010 and saw the value (even had oil cooler and everything )

You also didn't pay 105k though I was so happy seeing my bms cart full for almost 500whp for 2800 bucks

You have discovered why it was for sale. No CPO? Aieeeeeeee!

If it's not coming off lease, you're often buying the previous owner's issues. Be prepared to turn a wrench!

And 5 owners Thought I had an insider looking out for me but was wrong. And I lost my shot getting back into a black saph 335x Its like impossible to find a factory oil cooler optioned 335x n54 with navi and HK :/

I was so amped to try and install jb4 and see how it ran vs. my cobb :/ oil cooler would have only been 1299 and 6hrs labor instead of 3-5k
