Trying to end my lease early on my 2013 X6 any help?

Hellllo BMW fans.... i desperately need advices on what I needed to do to end my X6 2013 lease. I'm moving to California and it's not worth of having my car anymore so I wanted to end my lease early. What are the options? I read that I can sell my car to another buyer? I had the car since August 2012 with a payoff of $61,000. What should I do? I am trying to minimize a loss and possibly getting back 1k or 2k. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Not the expert, but you can try lease-trade; google them.
Not sure why you think you can get 1k to 2K back? I heard some people actually have to throw in some money so other would take over the lease

Thanks... I will check it out.. Yeah I need to know how to do this properly. I'm hoping to sell it at around that price to pay the dealer and then the other person would just pay for whatever on their side. That's what I intended to do. Thank you though.. any other suggestions anyone?

Yep, google on breaking the lease, cause so many rules etc.
One thing I am sure of, if you have someone take over your lease make sure that person financially stable; cause if he/she stops paying after taking over your lease, you are still responsible for monthly payment throughout the lease term, ie. BMW-financing will go after the first leaser regardless.

It's no different than trading in a car with a loan. The lease will have a daily payoff amount that you can get with a phone call. The dealer you are trading to will offer a trade-in price that should have nothing to do with the fact that it's a lease. If the amount is more than your payoff, you get a check from the dealer - if it's less, you have to come up with the difference. You can do a private sale as well. I've done it both ways.

OH MY GOD! Thank you KGCLARK! You save me life! That's what I thought but there are different things that I saw and scared me. I don't think my car is bad at $61,000 left for having the M performance package , 50i. I think I can get $65,000 from private sales. Thank you.
