Found inexpensive OEM option for winter wheels

Thought I'd pass this along as I bought a set for myself and they are in transit. OEM BMW alloys for about $100 each. I have no affiliation with the vendor other than I've bought from them before and never had an issue with them. I plan to use these for winter tires vs mounting on steelies or tirerack cheapies. They're listed as new OEM but I have to believe they are replicas or takeoffs. These go for around $400 a piece at the dealership.

I'm a bit skeptical, but since you've said you've done business with them before:

What might I ask have you gotten from them in the past? I can't help but think that they're pretty nicely priced for imitation wheels, but I'm a bit scared (to be honest) about the quality of an unknown wheel and an unknown manufacturer.

Obviously, I cannot guarantee what they are as I do not have them in hand. I found the same wheels on another website for a few $$ more and they were listed as takeoffs. Guess it's a bit of a risk to buy but I went with these. They're stamped BMW but I know that does not necessarily mean anything. I'll find out as soon as they're delivered.

I've bought replacement replica wheels (they were advertised as replicas) for a B15 from them & they've been fine. They delivered on time and the product was as promised.

I have had a set of similar replicas as winters since 2007. They look nice but are a bit softer than OEM wheels so I tend to get them unbent about every other season. The wheel repair guy is very impressed that they havent broken yet with so many unbendings

I think it might be time for a new set for when the GT arrives though, thanks for the link! Let us know how they look when you get them.

I have that wheel on my 2011 335i, and next to one of the little holes near the center is the number "13" raised as part of the casting. I thought it was sort of a JWL or VIA marking, but I've never heard of "13". Anyway that rim does not appear to have it. It may be a fine rim, but I'm questioning if it's an OEM one.

I would never get this pattern as winter wheels. They are a trap for ice and slutch, causing vibrations.

OK. Got the wheels. They arrived individually boxed in what appears to be perfect condition. Finish appears to be flawless and I don't see any visible defects at all.

On the backside they're cast with "BMW" on multiple spokes, one spoke has part number 6-796241, another has "South Africa". Along the inside rim itself (where the tire goes), it's marked with computer generated production data in ink as Borbet SA with dates and times. All of them were in the May 2013 timeframe. There are also multiple other castings including rim size, DOT number and various stampings (engravings?) with numbers that I don't know what they mean.

Part number matches BMW style 414 and Borbet does manufacture wheels in South Africa and they do produce OEM wheels for BMW. They sure as heck look real to me!

If I recall correctly, the replicas I bought from this company for the B15 were listed as replicas and had no markings at all when I got them.
