2015 MINI Spied Without Camo

The Mini Cooper S in these pics is sporting some of the same touches as the previous model: a rear roof spoiler, dual center-mount exhaust and an air intake in the hood. However, there are some distinct changes up front. Changes to the bumper, front and center, that now integrate the grille in what looks like a one-piece surround. Lower air inlets look to be re-sculpted and the LED DRL light ring that encircles almost the entire headlight cluster is also hard to miss. At the rear, the tail lamps seem to have grown a bit and the lower bumper has some changes to it.

Overall, the 2015 Mini appears to have grown slightly, with the front overhang noticeably longer than the current model. Compare the distance from the headlamp to the plastic fender trim. The front windshield also appears more raked on the 2014 model.

Codenamed "F56," this Mini will ride on BMW's new, front wheel drive, "UKL" chassis. It's a platform Mini will share with the upcoming BMW 1-series GT. This new chassis will share lightweight technologies from BMW's i-series of vehicles, and feature electronically adjustable dampers.

Powering the Mini Cooper S will be a 2.0L turbocharged four cylinder good for 189hp and 207 lb-ft of torque. The regular Mini will get a 1.5L turbocharged three-cylinder engine, rated at 134hp and 162 lb-ft. Both will feature stop-start technology, direct injection, and be mated to six-speed transmissions.

The 2015 MINI Cooper is set to launch at an event held at the MINI Plant in Oxford, England on November 18, 2013; which also marks the 107th birthday of Sir Alec Issigonis, the father of the Mini. Watch for production of the new Mini Cooper to start towards the very end of 2013.

Looks like an improved car, but still seems to fall short of the upcoming VW GTI for the same money.

Looks really cool,they didn't mess it up! Hope the new 3 cylinder engine is a lot better then the old 4 cylinder? It would be nice to get a base with a stick and not have to spend 4k more for the S model?if they don't raise the price to much ,you should be able to get a base with heated seats and sunroof for around 23k,pretty hard to beat considering it's really a bmw and getting 40 mpg is awesome!
