Help identifying this part?

I found the this picture online. What is the part circled? Is it a plug or wiring box?

All I can tell is that is clips into the fan shroud. Today when I replaced my belts there is no such plug (or whatever it is) in my car - the wires are modified from a previous owner. It doesn't apparently cause any problems, but I would like to possibly restore it.

That connector is probably part of the harness according to BMW. You should look on another E46 to see if the connector has a part number and manufacturer. Then you will probably be able to go online to find the connector.

Well I was hoping someone here would be really nice and look at their plug and give me the part number.

I would only take a minute.

Mine is a 2000 323 Ci with M52 engine, the part number on the connector is 8380376. This doesn't pull up on real oem, or on google, but maybe your dealer can use it to get the right part. I am guessing it is the same part on a 325i.

It might be different since you have a different engine. But I'll go with it for now and see what I can come up with. Thanks a bunch!
