Smile Looking to buy a BMW 1series

Hey everybody as you read in the title i need help looking for my car! i want to buy brand new and i want to either get a 135i or 135is Some other options i had included the New cla45 AMG, 335i M-sport, or maybe a corvette stingray

obviously the 1 series are the most nimble but the other options are close! I'm leaning towards bmw for the price to performance because i don't like the new cla AWD being based on a FWD and the corvette is nice but im trying to keep my max budget at $52,000 with taxes tags and titles

So s little help here if anybody has driven the other cars or has some knowledge on the cars listed so i can make my decision keep in mine i will be buying a car towards the end of 2014 so maybe the newer 1-2 series will be out!

I just recently test drove a 135is and it was fantastic. I love the extra HP and Torque.

Hey i know i changed my mind completely on the other cars! but I'm thinking between the 135i and is or a Audi s4 or the TTS please do not be biased i know you all prefer bmws and i do like them alot too but i want to see which will fit me the best i dont plan to mod till 3-4 years after warranty im still in school i work everyday and my times all tied up and I'm saving for a house as early as i can but i want a nice fun sports car we have somewhat bad rainy days and sometimes snow so the bmw has only that downside but the s4 and the tts are AWD i really live the look on the 3 cars alot especially a body kit on the 135i and the TTS that's a plus and i feel like the lighter cars will be fun and when i upgrade it will be much faster so I dont know right now i drive a somewhat slow jetta 2013 tdi so any car is fast compared to that its fun and everything but i want something somewhat fast! i do like the bmw 4 year 50000 mile warranty on the new car warranty and the maintenance while audi has the same new car warranty but only a 12 month 5000 mile maintenance. Help me out if you guys have driven any of the cars and let me know what you feel ALSO can anyone let me know when the new 1 series is coming out or is it just the new 2 series coming out in early 2014????

BMW will be the best for warranty work, hands down. When you buy a BMW, you generally have a peace of mind.

But don't buy one. Buy the new stingray, like you mentioned in your original post. It will utterly destroy ALL of those cars.

the stingray is nice but dont really need 3.8 0-60 and id rather get an audi or a bmw was thinking mercedes but ehhh the stingray is amazing but the insurance is gonna be crazy and its almost 54k before taxes tags and titles while the bmw is 49000 with everything and the TTS and the s4 are both about 52-53 base with the taxes tags and titles i was hoping they were cheaper but the AWD is nice for me even though RWD is more fun to drive! the plus on the audi TTS it looks so sexy with the setup i wanna do they look sexy but its hard because the s4 is an amazing Daily driver car with a nice punch! the TTS and the bmw will be a lot better to mod! while the s4 is almost 4000 pounds! which its not meant to be too light but you get the drift! I'm not as educated as some people when it comes to mods but I'm a good driver and i know enough of the basics to know what car i can drive i just haven't driven these cars ever i have driven an SLS amg (OMG!), A7, M3 and a few more but dont have anywhere close to the money for those. seeing as im only 19 these cars will be great starting cars! so those are my 3 definite choices! they all pack a punch but nothing super strong and they will last me a couple years till i switch. if anyone has driven any of those let me know the pros and cons you felt even with the bmw 135i or 135is

It's actually kind of impressive hahaha

To the OP, I'm sure everyone here will tell you the same thing. You don't need a "nice sports car" at 19. (Unless your parents buy it for you. LOL)

Your priorities for your own money should definitely not be a BMW, Audi, or Corvette at 19 years old.

Hence why my option for the s3 or rs3 isnt even in here i love those and the 1 series hatchback but anyways back to the decision on those 3!

After researching everything the S4 is the fastest 0-60 and is the best all weather vehicle the TTS look amazing too and is a nice ride. But i honestly would take the 135i before the tts Just because it has the same potential but the mods are much better for bmws compared to that range! the Supercharger in the audi s4 is amazing i have heard and the bmws twin turbo is really good but I want a AWD and i dont like 335s. So even with xdrive i wouldnt pick it and the s4 looks much better inside vs the 335i and even though the f30s look pretty nice i prefer the s4 look!

Twin Turbos are fun, but they're hungry

The 135 (or 335) is an amazing ride. The torque curve is flat starting at about 1500 RPM, meaning that the turbos are maxed out and the waste gates are open from 1500 RPM up. All that torque is really fun, but that is a hell of a load on the engine. I've seen 135s with engines totally used up at 65,000 miles. It was probably gasping at 30,000.

Hey, I'm a Bimmer fan, and won't be getting anything else, but if you tend to use a lot of HP and are on a budget, a naturally aspirated, larger engine might last longer.

I have owned 3 TTs and would definitely own another if I could get by with a 2 seater (I buy convertibles). Test drove the S4 and S5 but went with the 135i, which I like quite a bit. Just felt the A4/S4/A5/S5 a little too big for my tastes...maybe it is due to my liking my TTs, Boxster S and MB SLK. Go with your gut based on what gives you the biggest thrill drive-wise while not busting your budget.

Oh and the Audi S4/S5 are amazing in snow, the TT AWD ok and the 135i pretty crappy by comparison.

Yea I agree with you on the size. The s4 is a sleeper sedan and it does weigh 3900-4000 pounds, which is a lot. I won't be going to the track a lot, but I still like to go somewhat fast and it's great for straight lines. It does snow here and with rainy windy roads it's pretty bad that's what makes me want the S4 more and more I can also afford a c63 AMG which is the fastest in its price! But it would have to be used of course and the same price as the S4. I also could get an M3, which you guys would obviously side with but I don't know if I would get a used v8 or the new v6 twin!
It's tough thinking about it and also a new models will be coming out and changes but I like to single out cars from now.

It is really ridiculous to take a poll to ask people what car they'd prefer. What importance is that bit of information to my buying decision? In fact, it might color or influence my eventual choice which is why I never pay attention to polls.

The way to buy a car is to continually read about them and drive the dealers nuts road testing them. Of course, I'd never buy an American Car especially the Corvette. Every time a new one is introduced, everyone raves about it, but in time, they always turn out to be a big piece of crap. I doubt anything has changed. Another brand I'd never buy is a Porsche. Mainly it is the attitude of the dealers who act like they are doing me a favor selling me one. Another is price. The price of options are outrageous!

I did have a BMW 2002 in 1970, and I enjoyed the car which is the reason I recently bought the 135i. I liked it small stubby looks, and it is fun to drive with lots of power. I have a habit of buying cars at the end of their model run which by then the manufacturer usually have the bugs worked out.

I wouldn't buy the new Two or Four. I don't think they offer any additional driving pleasure over the current model. The real option they have to offer is a higher price. Car buyers are always such a bunch of fools who get rid of their current worthy rides for a new pretty face. That's a big advantage for the smart buyers. My BMW dealers has some hot used models at attractive prices!

I have owned two Mazda MX-5s, and they both were very good cars fun to drive and reasonable prices. Mazda is going to offer it 4th generation car in the next year or two, and from all the rumors, it might be worth waiting for.

Another brand I have always enjoyed is Mercedes Benz. My 2010 SLK 350 is wonderful car always satisfying to drive. If you want some real high performance, the MB C63 AMG is an absolute bargain at around 70 grand. Another German car that is worth considering is Audi. Unfortunately, except for the A3 & A4, its vehicles are on the larger size and under powered with a puny 4-cylinder turbocharged engine. With Audi, if you want big power from a V6 or V8, you have to pony up the bucks!

Anyway my M-edition 135i will give me years of driving pleasure. It also has a certain exclusivity seldom seeing any on the road!

Yea I've changed my opinions since then I've been looking at the c63, m3, cayman S they are all either a strong brute car, a well balanced fun drive , or a very good handling car that's small and feels great on the road and is a better model than the 911

It's off lease auctions only dealers allowed they rate them put of cleanliness miles and everything is written on then including color changes any modifications. We go with a friend who is a dealer so instead of buying them from a dealer for a stupid amount he buys it gives it then sells it to us for the same it honestly is so much cheaper .

What matches my interests then? I just want a nice car with some power yes a little show off revving it but I love cars honestly and I'm working my ass off lol I have 65-70 weeks left already saved the first 25000 just need 30000 to go.
Now onto the car I know before they were different cars but now I have zeroed into a c63 cayman or a M3 one is super fast the other is more handling oriented while being fast (cayman) and the M3 is overall balanced. If I can get a 507 edition c63 for the 55-60k that's my guaranteed pick the m3 is iconic and I love the look of it more than the c63 standard. but the cayman is so beautiful low to the ground it's so small compared to other cars and it's 3000 pounds and if I were to get a cayman R that's 2880 pounds!!
