How to install sub and amp '09 328i?

I have a completely stock 09 328i with the stock speakers/radio/etc. I want to install an aftermarket amp and sub. My husband says its too complicated to do it, so we have a bet going that I'm going to try to do it myself, LOL. Are there any very detailed instructions on HOW TO install the sub and amp (found a 1000watt amp.sub kit from Pep boys for $150 and it sounds awesome in his car). I want to keep the radio and speakers stock if possible. Thanks in advance for any help you guys can give. I want to prove hubby wrong! lol

1) The stuff pepboys sells is crap
2) Installation is key, not the equipment. Something simple like that will run you at more than $150 in parts and labor
3) These cars are complicated - computers for everything! Example, there's a computer which can shut off the radio when the battery is low. I personally wouldn't mess with it and this is coming from someone who has done his own installations in cars before (my work: http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/show...ll-False-Floor)

My advice:
Read the audio section of e90post. There is a lot of good info there.
Or go here and pay a little extra - http://www.bavsound.com/

i have an 07 335i with the Logic 7 stereo and only added 2 subs and a mono amp...granite im only pushing 1500watts RMS :P it is not an easy thing....if you wanna do the crappy way, get a high/low converter to add an aftermarket amp...if you wanna do the correct way, go Mobridge..these cars are not cheap to add anything on...keep in mind, if you go Mobridge, all factory amps and speakers must be replaced because the mobridge doesnt use the factory stuff, its purely aftermarket...

just do high/low converter for now, also keep in mind your alternator...i think you're like at 120amps, depending on you subs amp, you should be ok, but if you are pushing serious power (like me) you WILL have to upgrade it and being that there are no aftermarket alternators for this car, you will have to have a custom built one which is $$$$
