Resetting brake fluid service

I've been having trouble resetting the brake fluid service deal. I was supposed to get it done last month. Got it done yesterday (DIY) and today tried to reset the computer using the bt tool and it gave me an error telling me the control module wouldnt allow it. So I tried to reset it using the stalk and it wouldnt work either. Any ideas?

You can do it with the turn signal stock controls.

Are you sure you are not trying to reset the brake wear indicator.

Oi. When I google "BMW brake fluid icon", this is the first discernible image I get:

And even better, google results #2, 3, and 4 are all the same VIDEO:

Doing it with the stalk is so simple that I can't help but think you may have done something funny with the BT tool, with which I have zero experience. Of course this is assuming you know what the brake fluid icon looks like! If not, I have no idea what the heck you are doing playing around with the BT tool... And why would you use the BT tool first over the stalk for this??

What date does the car think its at?

What date does the car think its at?
If it had some how gotten set to a future date
that might confuse the time based recall settings.

Yes I'm using the right icon. The bt tool is pretty simple and straight forward regarding this and I like to pretend I'm getting my money's worth for the thing so that's why I used it first.

Re: Resetting brake fluid service

Ctuna, the car is set for the correct date. But the expiration for the warning was last month and its in red now saying the service is overdue. I think this is somehow related to why I can't change it.

Its a timer I don't think there is a lockout on it.

The software has to be out of sync . You might try a reboot by
disconnecting the battery .
