Question about key and starting 335xi 07'

Today I accidentally hit the start button on my 335 and without the key in the receiver it started? I have comfort access, is this normal for the car to start with the key note in the receiver? I was like "cool" but not sure if this is good? I had to put the key back in in order to turn off the cars electronics.

Any info?

This is normal for Comfort Access and is one of the major reasons to get it.

Cool. I didn't know that! How do you turn off the electronics, radio when you hit engine stop? Does it turn off time delay?

Thank you

There is a time delay but you can control it through the start / stop button too. I don't recall the exact procedure...I would consult the owners manual as it's described there.

Push the stop button once with your foot on the brake to turn off the engine. Then take your foot off the brake and hit stop again. That will turn off the electronics. If you dont take your foot off the brake, you will turn the car back on when you hit the button.

read your manual, if you dont have one you can down load one from BMW, there are lots of things the car can do, if you hold the unlock button I think all the windows will roll down, and if you have a convertible the top will go down too

I wish there was a way to retrofit comfort access on to a car that does not have comfort access

I agree, pretty cool option that doesn't add a bunch of weight and most importantly won't get dated in its operation as the car ages.
