E63 / E64 6 Series (2003 - 2013)
The E63/E64 BMW 6 Series builds on BMW's sporty heritage with aggressive lines and an incredible motor to back the design up. Available in coupe and convertible trims with a standard 4.8 liter engine producing 360 horsepower and 360 lb-ft of torque, the 6-series is a popular choice that exceeds expectations.

650i 2012 Review (Old vs New)

All,

The new BMW 650i body style, and engine has been around about a couple of years now, and before I invest in one I wanted to do a review of the good and bad. Feedback please...thanks!!

650i 2012 Review (Old vs New)

I've had both.. The F12 takes everything great about the E63 and improves upon it. Interior/Exterior looks, creature comforts, engine performance. You name it, it's better in the F12. I highly recommend it.

The only thing bad about my F12 650 is that it isn't an F12 M6... :rofl

Mein Auto: 2006 650 convertible!!!
It is amazing how quick the prices are dropping! There is actually a 2012 convertible for sale at a $49k price. It does have higher mileage than I would go for, but still indicates where this is going. The lowest price 2012 was in the $60's just a couple of months ago. Now the list is littered with vehicles all through the $50's.

I'm going to offer an opposing view, don't kill me! I was given a 2013 640i for a week recently. Things that massively disappointed me..

1. Start stop is insanely obtrusive, and on restart you lurch forward of that ebrake isn't on.
2. The E brake makes you surge forward when you drive off.
3. The gearbox was slow to change ( paddle shift), and clunky of given sudden inputs.
4. The leather seemed to scratch very easily and smelt horrid.
5. Ride was slightly less harsh than the E63, but only barely, and the steering lacked any feel.

Just my opinions, very pretty car, and I loved the interior but I won't be getting a new one.

The start stop can be turned off by hitting the button beneath ignition button or it can be programmed to be off when you start the car by the folks in service. I don't use the paddles much. Only time I use them is during spirited driving in sport plus mode.. And it shifts just fine to me. Where I do agree is with the steering feel. The electronic steering takes a bit of getting used to. I have found toggling between the sport and comfort modes can help with the steering depending on the type of driving you are doing. You may enjoy the experience in a 650 better compared to the 640..
