Intermittent dome light

Hello, I did a search to no avail.

Here's my issue...

2011 328i sedan.

About half the time, when I intend to turn on the interior lights by opening the driver door or by pressing the interior light rectangular button by the sunroof controls, the front main interior light (again by the sunroof controls) does not light up. The rear seat main interior light always works as do all the floor lights. When I did a search, I found out that you can accidentally disable your interior light by pressing and holding the switch for more than 3 secs. I may have done this in the past... but wait... about half the time, the front interior main light DOES work.

What's up with that?

Re: Intermittent dome light

Did you buy the car new? Did you change interior bulbs with led's? My 08 328i did this when I put cheap led bulbs in. The computer saw a low voltage draw and assumed the bulb was blown and cut power to the circuit. If I would do a key cycle or wait about 5 to 8 minutes I could turn the light on again and it would only stay on about 40 seconds and cut back off again.. Just some thought.
