Oil drainage Q

In the pictures I've seen, it seems that the drain plug faces the rear of the car, at the rear of the oil pan. I saw someone raise the front wheels on ramps and do the oil change. Would the drainage be complete in this fashion, with front raised and oil draining toward the rear, or would I be better off having the car level?

Thanks!

It will drain just fine level and might take just a bit longer. Also not all BMWs drain rear...

It doesn't answer your question, but I believe my E92 doesn't drain rearward, but to the right instead, as in towards passenger side at a right angle.

I've only used ramps for this, and my first time I decided to wait a forever and a half. When I proudly shared my little feat of a DIY oil change, a veteran here who has done a million of em said that he typically migh only wait 5 min or so and then finish it up. I decided to follow suit on the next oil change.
