Good stuff so far!

My concert highlights:

Many Grateful Dead shows. Roosevelt Stadium in Jersey City. RFK stadium in DC. Concert at Watkins Glen, along with the Allman Brothers, and the Band. Three day concert, and glad I made it home alive after a slight altercation with the some of the Pagans.

Partied with Golden Earring in Germany in 1982. I was hurtin, They got up like nothing happened and played a full set.

First concert: Steppenwolf and Genya Ravan and 10 wheel drive, at the Fillmore East in NYC in the Very early 70's

Best show: Bruce Springsteen and the E street band at Seton Hall College in South Orange NJ in 1975 or 76. About 50 people there, as it was his early years. What a show! Clarence was amazing!

Jefferson Airplane (Starship?) in central park. Also around 75 or 76. Free concert. I used to hang around the Starship house by Golden Gate state park in the late 70's when I lived in San Francisco. The entire house was painted flat black. Grace Slick used to drive a green custom van with a wing on it. What a party house!

Hot Tuna at a club in Patterson NJ that I can not remember the name of. I only remember that it was Patterson because I remember a statue of Lou Costello being there. Strange the odd things the mind spits out!

Many many other that the details are a little fuzzy on. lol

Amazing stuff here....you and I were in attendance at a LOT of the same shows....the Dead always played Roosevelt Stadium right around Garcia`s birthday every summer....man, those were the longest. trippiest, most intense shows ever...along with The New Riders and The Band, they were classic examples of why the saying "There`s nothing like a Grateful Dead Show" was invented.

My friends and I were also at Roosevelt during the CSNY show when John Scher (or was it Ron Delsner ? One of those producers, anyway) walked out on stage to announce that Richard Nixon had just resigned the Presidency after the Watergate scandal....the crowd went ape-sh!t....

When I first got out of the military, I had an apartment on East 7th St. in the East Village, about 200 yards down the street from McSorleys, and 2 blocks from the Fillmore, where I usually spent about 3 nights a week....saw just about everybody there, that place was The Holy Grail of music venues....I recall leaving there after a particularly long and outrageous Allman Brothers show....it was just starting to get light outside, we were still pretty plugged in....my roommate Eddie had somehow lost one of his shoes during the night, but didn`t even care Man....those were the days....

Lately I've been listening to alot of Pantera like Walk and Cemetery Gates and Metallica songs like Enter Sandman and Master of Puppets. Some other good ones I always listen to are.
Creed - My Sacrifice
Old Crow Medicine Show - Wagon Wheel
Billy Joel - Piano Man
And some Lynyrd Skynyrd
I have to much to list off haha.

Re: Official E46 Music Thread

Crazy that we were at a lot of the same shows! I remember one show at Roosevelt Stadium, and when we went back to my friends VW bug after the show, we discovered that someone had stolen the windshield and the back window. Had no sunglasses, so we had to drive home with saran wrap held over our eyes so we could drive over 20mph. I still laugh about it! Lots of other good posts here too! Everyone seems to be getting into this, and I am glad you made it a sticky!

Have you been able to market your skills to make money from them ? Are you familiar with keyboard player Ronald Jenkees ? He`s managed to become somewhat of an internet celebrity, and does fairly well by self-promoting his CDs for sale on the web.

Someone asked for a photo of my system, here`s one (mostly mid-`80s Carver separates).... I also have a system comprised of all `70s-era Silver-Faced Pioneer equipment which sounds pretty amazing considering it`s almost 40 years old....

Dude, nice find!

Variety is the spice of life... one of my favorites lately: Juanes... played with a ukulele in this version, but it's usually played with a guitar...
