Exclamation Car pulling to side when braking

I've had cars in the past when it came time to get a wheel alignment/but this is more violent than Ive experienced with previous cars. When im braking at high speeds the car shifts to the left and steering wheel jolts to the right(opposite side of pulling). Have to really pull the steering wheel fast even more to the side it jolts to just to get back in line.
Could this actually be just the wheel alignment? Possibly Steering rack-pinion?...OR one caliper/brake over powering the other?...
The car was in an accident, Passenger side was hit- not too much damage, but the wheel got hit too(rim didn't need replacement-tire ok-replaced some sway bars,etc.../not too much damage either. Has anyone experienced something like this? Would like to hear some opinions/responses. Thanks

It's a shot in the dark, but I've had this happen on two previous vehicles when a shock went bad.

Have your suspension checked by a competent person. Think: Collision event if not fixed!

Brakes too.

Have this car towed to a repair shop and get the suspension and steering checked. If it's as "violent" as you say it isn't brakes or bushings. You have something very important broken or disconnected.
