E82 / E87 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by a naturaly aspirated inline 6 in the 128 or the turbo twin power inline 6 rocket sled 135.

128 sport package headrests

I got a new (2011) 128 last week and (well, first I need fun car!! I love it!) and well, my neck has been sore ever since. The headrests are WAY too far forward for my head, requiring my neck to be wonky to just sit up right.

What have you done about your headrest? This is on sport package, manual, leather seats.

I just came back from an upholstery shop where they said that they could cut them smaller for $250 each. I decided for that price I'll see what I can do myself. I pulled the cover off and there's not much chance of cutting it back. The best option I can see right now is to go to a steel fabricator and get the chrome rods bent near the top to make them lean back more.

I would rethink my driving position. My 128 has the sport package is very comfortable. The head restraint is not an issue. It's hard for me to envision how it can be if you drive with the seat properly near vertical with arms and legs slightly bent. Proper position is one of the first things taught in BMW schools.
