Bluetooth Audio Streaming Question

Hi. This is my first post on this forum. I just bought a pre-owned 2011 328i, X Drive. I'm trying to get used to the iDrive, and struggling just a little bit. In particular, I cant figure out how to stream audio from my iPhone 5 (ios 6). I have no problem pairing it. And, the bluetooth works fine for phone calls. When I choose the iPhone on the phone/bluetooth menu the phone icon is highlighted, but the audio icon is grayed out. Am I missing something?

Sorry if this is a newbie question, but what is 6nr? I went to the link you provided, but its still not clear. As I said, this is my first post, and I just got the car. So I would appreciate it if you could explain the jargon.

"hit options when phone is highlighted and add audio by clicking the box"

I dont seem to have any options. This is what I'm struggling with. I expect to be able to click on the phone and drill down. But it doesn't offer any options.

Everything is and add on with BMW

Everything is and add on with BMW
The radio or entertainment system is made up of a bunch of different
modules that have varied over the years especially with entertainment electronics
and Bluetooth.
You have to have idrive/nav to have audio streaming as a pre condition
and there latest module called the combox.
If you do a vin decode or you happen to have the sales slip that lists the options
it will tell you if you have 6nr or not .

If you have a car made later than 2011 and you have nav you can add it if you don't have it.

Another user asked this for an f30 n it seems like that's an add on option. You need enhanced blue tooth package on a f30 to stream over bluetooth.

Thanks everybody for your responses. I resolved the problem by deleting the phone then pairing it again. Apparently I didn't choose the audio option when I paired it the first time. Works perfectly now.
