Extended maintenance 2011 335d

I just purchased a 2011 CPO 335d with 8 months left on the factory 4 yr/50,000 mile maintenance plan. The car has 21,000 miles. Do people recommend getting the extra 6 yr/100,000 mile extended maintenance plan? The dealer is quoting me $2495 for the extra 2 years. So far, I'm loving this car.

Thanks.

That would be really pricey for wiper blades and oil changes ....... Maybe brakes too?

Re: Extended maintenance 2011 335d

I received new brakes/rotors all around out of this. Over half of the cost. Is this dealer specific? I dunno, but after all the oil changes and wipers, this will have paid for itself.

Google Mike Miller BMW for a maintenance schedule.

Google Mike Miller BMW for a maintenance schedule.
The old school schedule if you are really interested in maintaining it.

I got the extended maint in almost the exact same circumstance (2011 CPO 335D 28K miles). Seems to me that if you get brakes done under the extended maint, you win. If you don't, you lose. But for me, complete 360 degree peace of mind till 100K was worth the risk... even if I find that I spent more, heck I borrowed that money for 0.9% and get to drive worry-free for a long time.

Isn't CPO suppose to give you powertrain and engine parts coverage until 100k? I could be wrong.

Yes but question was about maintenance not warranty

Thanks for the replies. After doing a search on the forums (sorry I didn't do that before posing the question), it seems many people feel the extended maintenance is not worth it. I drive about 15,000 miles a year so won't come close to the 100,000 mark before the extended maintenance plan would end. I presume any maintenance done at an independent BMW shop would not void any CPO warranty?

Nobody says they can't continue to stamp the service blocks in the owner's manual.

I think if you're not going to drive the miles you would definitely be throwing away money on extended maint. Should settle it for you. In my case I absolutely WILL put the miles on (I do about 30K/yr). If I wasn't positive I would drive the miles in the timeframe, I'd decline it too (in fact I wouldn't bother with CPO I'd just lease new every three years).

You should certainly pass on extended maint in your case. I mean on mine, I'm hoping to squeak in that all wheel brake job at 99K miles, just to prove I was right to buy the maint plan
