E39 (1997 - 2003)

Radiator removal road block

....yes, I've searched to forum for past threads on this topic.

Now that thats out of the way, when removing my radiator tonight I disconnected all the hoses and electrical connects etc but there is one peg on the driver's side that supports the radiator. The problem is that when trying to remove the radiator that peg cannot clear the automatic tranny high pressure lines. Those lines the only thing keeping the radiator from being puled straight out I'd really rather not have to remove the high pressure tranny lines if I don't need to and I also don't recall any other posts saying that they needed to remove those lines to get the radiator out. Any suggestions?

I assume you are talking about your 97 528 since you are posting on this site. THat is what I have and I remember the radiator does not come straight out. I believe i moved the passenger side of the radiator back torward the engine and pulled up from that side first. Of coarse I think there was a majic sequence of cuss words that may have made it come out. Sorry I can't remember those. Keep at it, you should not have to remove those lines. New went in same way and was easier after figuring out how to get it come out.
