Battery replacement for 2009 335d

I think my battery may be going south.
I have ordered the Bavarian Tech OBD cable, so that I can register the
new battery.
Has anyone used a Duracell AGM battery?
It is SLI49AGM Duracell Procell Platinum AGM Battery
It is 3 yrs. replacement and they sell it for $175.50
I know Duracell make high quality batteries just don't know
about car batteries.

There are only a couple battery manufacturers - the duracell is likely made by one of them, wouldn't worry.

bball,
Is your battery group size 49 or 94? The part you quote is a group 49. I measured mine without removing from car and it the slightly smaller group 94. But here is what is wierd, The electrical specs on my OEM battery, 90 A-hr, RC=160 minutes can only be met by the larger group 49. Bavarian Technic cable will only allow you to register battery of same (or close specs). If you change battery chemistry from lead acid to AGM, BT cable can't do it. Here is my data on my OEM battery's sticker[note Varta brand name]. Johnson controls is the other manufacturer.

On different websites, it says group 49. I did not know switching from lead acid to AGM, is problem registering with Bavarian technic cable.
I have not actually looked at the BMW battery itself to check the part#.
Is it absolutely necessary to get BMW battery? It did last me almost 4+ years.

I just spoke with Bavarian Technic folks, and they do not support battery registration in 335d.
I was not aware of this.
fyi for diesel owners.

BT cable is not listed for our 335Ds. Is the charging from a D different than from an I in regards to alternator performance? I know the computer decides how aggressively to charge based upon battery efficiency (related to its age) and the battery capacity. I guess these parameters would make me think it isn't a diesel thing. I realize its much more energy intensive to turn over a diesel to start it compared to a gasser due to 16:1 compression ratio. But once started, system performance would be similar except diesel system not running ignition system.

I'm going over to realoem to compare alternator part numbers just for grins.
