E90 2007 328i Sport Angel Eye Replacement Bulb

I couldn't find a thread or anything on the internet and it wasn't listed in my Bentley book describing this -- so I am posting.
You have to remove the tire and the wheel well casing to access the bulb's position. For this model, the Angel Eye replacement bulb sits completely by itself just below the the headlight assembly; see attached picture. The Angel Eye bulb cover pops off with a little help from your plastic pry bar tool, then you'll need a #15 metric allen wrench to remove the two screws holding the bulb in position. I replaced with LED 6W 10K hour bulbs. I couldn't find any replacement bulbs that actually fit so I had to remove the glass displacement insert; you'll understand what I mean once you get in there. Took 20 minutes per side. I hope this helps someone. Forty2.

You've got to be kidding me....I can recall AT LEAST 3 or 4 videos or written guides posted on various sites on the web. The E90 is more documented than the E92/3.

Anyway, the glass you removed is a UV filter. It prevents the light rods from discoloring from UV exposure from a halogen bulb. However with LEDs, this is not an issue since LEDs are single spectrum and do not emit UV rays.
