Early 2014 X1 vs now

I ordered a 2014 X1 from a local dealer the first week of October, hoping to get the car in 7 or 8 weeks (end of November/beginning of December). I just heard today that the car won't be delivered until January! As I need a car by Christmas, this was quite disappointing.

As such, I'm looking at 2014 X1s that are already in the States that I can buy instead. However, I want to make sure that the "early 2014" X1 I might end up with is the same as the ones that are being built right now. Specifically, if I bought one of the first 2014 X1s built, would it have:

1. Servotronic steering
2. The BMW Apps upgrades (Siri "Eyes Only", etc.)
3. The recent fix where your preference for Auto Start/Stop is saved per driver (with Ultimate package)?

Thanks for any information - I appreciate it.

I would recommend renting a car for the month that YOUR X1 will be delayed. That way you get exactly what you want with all of the updates. I think that will be money well spent.

i would ask your dealer if they can give you a loner car to drive until your car comes in. I was in a similar situation where my lease ended 3weeks prior to my x1 being delivered to the dealer (It was supposed to be in 1 week before my lease on my e90 ended), i asked my dealer if they could provide me a complimentary loaner till mine came in and they had no problem doing this for me.

1. All 35i's have Servotronic; it was optional on 28i's until recently, so earlier ones might or might not have it.
2. I don't think any X1's have this.
3. My 2014 was built in April and has this; but the dealer can program it anyway.

1. Any X1 28i built after August has the Servotronic standard. Ours was completed on August 14th and does not. Earlier models had Servotronic as an option, so if they have it, it should be on the sticker.
2. I've not heard anything about this.
3. The ASS memory comes with the "Comfort Access" keyless entry system. I don't know when it stated. But it comes with the Premium Package also, not just the Ultimate.

I ordered my X1-35i on Sept. 30 and it is already built and half-way across the Atlantic on a ship right now with delivery to me anticipated by 11/8?

Door to Door ???

Just picked up my new X1 today.
I ordered it on 8/31, they placed the order with BMW 9/4. It arrived at the dealer 10/19, paperwork followed 3 days later...

I don't know why it should take longer than 12 weeks for you to get yours ...

I would ask for a rental car for the time being they should be able to do something for you as someone suggested above. Good luck!
