Do I have sport suspension? I have a staggered setup.

When I bought my AUC (Approved Used Car - same as CPO for the N. American continent I guess) a few weeks ago, I asked if it had sport suspension, and the sales guy said no. I thought fair enough, it's the SE model and not M-sport.

However thinking about it, I have sport seats and a staggered setup of 225/255. I've got one of the sales pictures of my car and another M-sport car with 18" alloys they were selling, and I've lowered the contrast on the picture to show the ride height. To me the ride height looks the same, not a difference of 20mm. Would BMW offer a staggered setup without sport suspension?

Do you think I have sport suspension as an added option, even though it's an SE and not M-sport, and the sales guy was wrong? I asked him to check the original options but he declined my suggestion...

If I do, awesome!

Thanks for any thoughts.

Well he wasn't a Yank.

But yeah, he was in rather a hurry. When I got there the car had no MOT (yearly car check), so had to wait for that. Then they didn't reset the service indicator, so had to drive back to the dealer after making it as far as the petrol station.

So in conclusion yes he was an idiot.

Me: Could you check the original spec and tell me if it has sport suspension?
Guy: It won't do.

If it was a US spec car I'd say yes. You can buy staggered wheels, but getting the sport seats in a non sport car (it can be done) would be a pita and $$$, so I would say in all liklyhood it has a sport suspension. Since it is a UK spec car I don't know. Take it to a dealer and they should be able to tell you. N4S

It seemed a minor point since I was purchasing the car anyway, but in hindsight I should have marked him down on the feedback sheet so he didn't get commission.

My car is a U.S. car. It has M-sport, staggered wheels and no sport suspension.

In the US all RWD E92 Coupes have sport suspension but sport package equipped cars come with sport seats and 18" rims (as opposed to 17" rims on E92s without sport package0. Your rims look like 18" style 189 which was the standard sport suspension rim.

He'll receive his commission regardless of customer opinion.

Mein Auto: comes with a built-in N54
http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/

Enter the last 7 characters of VIN. Check if your car is equipped with "M Sportfahrwerk", or "M Sports suspension" in English. It actually lists all of the standard and optional equipment originally came with your car.

He said if I marked 8 or less on the sheet he gave me he wouldn't get it, so he was a liar too? That figures

Thanks for that, very useful. Only sport seats and sport leather steering wheel listed, so no sport suspension

I guess it just got the wheel upgrade to 18" with stagger. As for ride height, I thought it didn't look different to the sport model, but it could be difficult to tell from the picture. I guess the other M-sport might not have sport suspension, but I thought it was listed as the option on the BMW site for that particular one.

So I guess it totally depends on what the original customer asks for then! Thanks

Is it an xdrive? The xdrive sport package doesn't have the sport suspension, just the seats, wheels, and steering wheel.
