New Issue

Today on the highway, my 335i just gradually stopped accelerating. Had to get it towed to the dealer. I just bought it in March of this yr. 75000km. 2009. Has Dinan Stage 1. Is this a HPFP issue? Will my BMW certified series cover this or will Dinan cover this? Thanks

Dinan assume all warranty responsibility of any part that fails because of or in direct relation to a Dinan mod. Up to 50,000 miles or 4 years from in service date.

Prob not HPFP. Why would you think so? No trouble shooting done....could be anything.

Code readout from BMW capable OBDII reader, please. There are but two Generally Recognized As Safe:

.

Also, without knowing what's failed, we can't possibly know if BMW warranty, or Dinan's, applies. Or if it's a non-warranty issue.

Re: New Issue

OK. It doesn't look like they'll get any troubleshooting done until Monday. I only figure it was the HPFP because the engine cut out like it was out fuel. And I know the HPFP is known to be troublesome.
Thanks for the replies. I'll update on what the problem is when BMW finds it.

What recalls have been done to your car?

Wondering if you have the newer pump or not.

Your car is certified?? They usually wont certify a tuned car. Dinan certifies motor for the 4 year/50,000 miles. Not after that.

Re: New Issue

So news is...I need a new water pump and thermostat. The water pump is under warranty but the thermostat isn't. Also getting an oil change and a coolant flush. Total damage is $900 which sounds steep to me.

You're lucky! When my water pump failed, my car showed me the low coolant warning and then immediately the no coolant warning as I was on my way home from work on the I-15S. I though my car was gonna blow up. Ended up being $1300 for me.
