Welcome to the X5ers from RF! I'm here too. For all you old time RF refugees, it's me, Kevin. Remember? The guy who kind of got the sh!t stirred up? I'm here with a brand new handle. What do you guys think? Is it totally appropriate? It's late and I was feeling kind of sarcastic. I'm open to suggestions. I don't want to plain ol' "Kevin" again. It's kind of a catharsis.

Anyway, I hope to see the old RF gang over here. Unfortunately they don't have an X5 specific forum but we can make it work. If someone comes up with a brilliant idea, let us all know.

For all the current Bimmerfest people, I'm new here and a recent reject from another BMW board that I shall call RodeFlew. You will probably see more people coming from there. There are bunch of guys with a ton of knowledege so this should be a welcome addition to your forum. It's a long story not worth repeating but we'll be trying to make this our new home since RodeFlew is no longer a place we want to be.

Looking forward to some interesting discussions.

Well, they're pretty strict about the pRon, here, but if you want a place to talk about X5's, modding them and showing them off, this is the right place!

Been on RF since '99 and have officially ditched their X5/X5 Forum for good. The only reason I haven't posted on this particular board that much is the lack of activity. However, since I am a message board whore, the pattern is that people go where the knowledge is.

Perhaps we can link to X5world for Kevin's "Week-in-review" posts on Friday. This way we can keep this board ******free and still enjoy each others bulll****.

Don't forgot that Bimmerfest breaks the traditional borders between different model boards.

If you just like checking a forum at a time, other interesting boards here you don't want to miss:
  • We have a healthy Off Topic board, which is essentially a pr0n free lounge. Almost anything goes, as long as it's fit for prime-time TV.
  • We have a General BMW board, where important BMW related news discussions are typically posted.
  • We also have a Classified board for selling your used items, buying new items and for group buys.
  • For the obsessive-compulsive, we have a Detailing board, to discuss car cleaning products, techniques and other things to keep your ride pristine.
  • Of course, there's also places to discuss tires and wheels, local events, car audio, dealer inquiries, and even other car brands.

Welcome to all new Bimmerfest members. This site is only as good as what our registered members contribute to it. It's a bit of an adjustment going from the Roadfly format to the vBulletin format used here at Bimmerfest.com. However, like many others, I'm sure you'll find that the format here is extremely organized, and really brings the BMW community together.

Hello there fellas...

Can't believe the shiznit over there at the RF. I can't believe those guys couldn't figure out that it wasn't a _porn issue and was a customer service issue. No wonder that can't make any $, even with a million hits a month. Jeez. no wonder they had to ask for $30 "donations" from their members. Anyone else out there a small business owner, like I am? Can you imagine asking your clients or customers for a donation because you couldn't figure out how to make money? LOL. I can't promise that F.U. would be the 1st words out of their mouths, but I can promise that it wouldn't take long.
I mean, could you imagine "disciplining" a paying customer to teach him/her a lesson? They should be willing to kiss their paying customers' arses and call it ice cream...not that any of the x5 regs are the kind of people would ask the admin to kiss the arse. but the RF admin don't seem to understand that it's not the RF name brand that the regs care about, it's the people there. and once those people start disappearing, the others will follow. of course they have to submit to the wishes of their advertisers, but who they hell do they think are making purchases from these advertisers? it's the arseholes like us that are checking the board all day(or at least i used to), not the causual passer-by.
so, i agree that it's best to disappear from the RF. stop purchasing from their advertisers and maybe they'll get the message. After all, its not personal, its business.

Hello, Everybody!

I'm certainly no expert, but I'm happy to be here. Thank you, Bimmerfest, for the warm welcome. Nice to see so many familiar people here. I wonder where they all came from?

Suggestion for Jon

How aboue keeping X3 and X5 discussion boards separate. I see a lot of stuff here about X3 newbies that do not apply to X5 enthusiasts. If that is a problem we all will *grow up*

If we start to see an increase in X5 discussions, I think Jon or the admins will gladly create an X5 specific board. Up to you folks to create the need (hint-hint!).
